Valentine's Day Cookie Cake

Chocolate Icing

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350.
  2. Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a separate large bowl or stand mixer bowl, mix (paddle attachment if you are using a stand mixer) the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla, mix for about 1 minute.
  4. Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture, stir until fully mixed. Fold in the chocolate chips and ¼ cups M&M’s.
  5. Place parchment paper in your 9-inch heart pan (I used clips to hold down the sides until the cookie dough is in and remove the clips before placing in the oven).
  6. Press the cookie dough into the heart pan and push to the sides until it is evenly in the pan. Place in the oven for 17-20 minutes. Remove from oven. Before cooled, take the remaining M&M’s and white chocolate chips, lightly press into the top of the heart cookie. Let cool in the pan completely before removing, about 20-30 minutes.
  7. While the cookie is cooling, make your icing. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, whisk the butter for 1-2 minutes. Add the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla. Whisk for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add the milk, 1 tbsp at a time. Add to piping bag and decorate however you prefer. Serve and enjoy!
