Chocolate Icing
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350.
-
Whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
-
In a separate large bowl or stand mixer bowl, mix (paddle attachment if you are using a stand mixer) the softened butter and sugar until smooth. Add the egg and vanilla, mix for about 1 minute.
-
Add the flour mixture to the sugar mixture, stir until fully mixed. Fold in the chocolate chips and ¼ cups M&M’s.
-
Place parchment paper in your 9-inch heart pan (I used clips to hold down the sides until the cookie dough is in and remove the clips before placing in the oven).
-
Press the cookie dough into the heart pan and push to the sides until it is evenly in the pan. Place in the oven for 17-20 minutes. Remove from oven. Before cooled, take the remaining M&M’s and white chocolate chips, lightly press into the top of the heart cookie. Let cool in the pan completely before removing, about 20-30 minutes.
-
While the cookie is cooling, make your icing. Using a stand mixer or hand mixer, whisk the butter for 1-2 minutes. Add the cocoa powder, powdered sugar, salt, and vanilla. Whisk for 1-2 minutes. Gradually add the milk, 1 tbsp at a time. Add to piping bag and decorate however you prefer. Serve and enjoy!
