Staying away from the carbs is a hard task. When you just can't, I think you will enjoy this whole-grain twist made on a typical biscuit recipe. Anytime I can substitute ingredients packed with more nutrition or less processing, I will definitely give it a go! As a bonus, I can feel far less guilty about those carbs.
Simply delicious biscuits made with whole grain flour.
- 4 cup Whole grain flour (Whole grain or whole wheat flour. I recommend King Arthur Flour, if you do not have whole grain flour, all purpose flour will work well.)
- 8 tbsp Unsalted butter (cold) (Remember to use cold butter here.)
- 2.5 tsp Kosher Salt (Coarse sea salt is a great alternative if kosher salt is not available.)
- 2 tbsp Baking powder
- 1 cup Buttermilk
- 1 tbsp Unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 pinch Kosher Salt (Coarse sea salt is a great alternative if kosher salt is not available.)
