With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I recommend it for that certain special someone. For an extra touch, shape it into a heart and bake! Ok, it’s also simple enough to make any night of the week, so it’s also perfect for everyday family meals. Kids even enjoy making pizza from scratch! Three Cheese Bacon and Spinach White Pizza
Pizza Dough
- 1 cup Self-rising flour + extra for a floured surface (No self-rising flour? Use 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1 ½ tsp baking powder, and ½ tsp salt – whisk together before adding the yogurt)
- 1 cup Greek Yogurt - plain (Nonfat preferred but optional)
- 1 tsp Basil (dried)
Sauce
- 1.5 tbsp Butter (not salted)
- 1 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 1 cup Half & Half (Heavy cream or whole milk will work if you don’t have half and half.)
- 1 tsp Minced Garlic
- .5 tsp Garlic Salt
- .5 cup Freshly Shredded Parmesan Cheese (freshly shredded is preferred but pre-grated will work too)
Toppings
- 0.25 cup Fresh Spinach
- .5 cup Chopped Bacon
- 4 oz Plain Goat Cheese
- 8 oz Fresh Mozzarella (pre-sliced log)
- 0.25 cup Shredded Mozzerella Cheese (Optional - makes it even cheesier)
- 0.25 cup Shredded Parmesan (Optional topping-freshly shredded is preferred but pre-grated will work too)
