Need a Chinese food fix, but don’t want to leave the house? This Beef & Broccoli recipe is quick and easy, yet super delicious! This recipe takes roughly 25 minutes to cook.
Beef and broccoli recipes typically call for raw sugar and end up with high amounts of sodium. What if we could reduce both and the overall gluten content? Well, why not! In normal fashion, I tried a few alternate ingredients and eventually settled on a recipe to reduce the overall sugar and sodium content. Check out this recipe and as always, let me know how it turns out.
Simply delicious beef & broccoli made with coconut aminos.
- 1.5 cup Steak - chopped (Flank Steak or Sirloin preferred, but any beef steak will work. Chop into half inch cubes, stripes, or your preference.)
- 3.5 cup broccoli - chopped (Frozen broccoli may be used in place of fresh broccoli.)
- 2.5 tbsp Coconut aminos (Coconut aminos is technically a substitute for soy sauce, but is on the sweeter side. If you do not have coconut aminos (I found mine at Wal-Mart), then I recommend using brown sugar (2 tbsp) in it's place but be aware your sugar on this recipe will increase.)
- 0.5 tbsp Honey
- 1.5 tbsp Soy sauce -reduced sodium
- 1 tbsp Galic - minced
- 0.5 tsp White vinegar
- 2 tbsp Sesame oil
- 1.5 tbsp Olive oil
- 0.25 tsp Black pepper
- 0.5 tsp Garlic powder
- 0.25 tsp Kosher salt (Course sea salt or table salt can be used in place of kosher salt.)
- 1 tbsp Water
- 1 dash Garlic salt (Optional for topping)
- 2 dash Sesame seeds (Optional for topping)
- 1 dash Cayenne pepper (Optional for topping)
