Recently, I developed a slight obsession with the flavor paring of goat cheese and hot honey. Hot honey balances sweetness with spicy heat. Paired with goat cheese, it’s even more flavorful! I originally spun up this new puff pastry for Christmas. We have also found this appetizer fitting for New Year’s and even Super Bowl parties. This result is a flavor explosion of sweet and hot with a crunchy yet creamy texture. Best yet, this is such an easy appetizer to whip up and so worth it! While you entertain, I really hope you enjoy serving this recipe to your guest and as always, let me know how it turns out!

Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 425.
-
Take the puff pastry and lay it out flat. Pinch the inseams together if they have separated. With a rolling pin, lightly roll out the pastry.
-
In a microwave safe bowl, mix the honey, butter, cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and salt. Microwave for 30 seconds. Stir.
-
With a basting brush, evenly brush the puff pastry with the hot honey. Avoid the edges. Save about 1 tbsp of the hot honey, you will drizzle it over the tops once they come out of the oven.
-
After putting the hot honey on the pastry, sprinkle all of the goat cheese crumbles over the honey, evenly.
-
Next tightly roll the puff pastry up, making sure to seal the edges of the dough as best you can.
-
Cut into1/2 inch sections with a pastry scraper/cutter or knife. You should get 12 pinwheels.
-
Place in oven for 15-20 minutes.
-
After you take it out of the oven, drizzle with the remaining hot honey (you may have to reheat the hot honey in the microwave for 10 seconds or so) over the pinwheels.
-
Top with parsley (optional). Simply Enjoy!
